Tormented souls review1/10/2023 So if there is no external light source, you need to use your lighter to survive. This makes exploring easier and allows you to make "safe routes" between key areas. Their bodies even stay in the place you killed them which is a neat little touch. However, whilst it works very similar to the early RE games, items are split into groups for easy management and also there is no limit on how much you can carry. Puzzles were plentiful and whilst i'd say they were harder than the early RE games, they weren't too taxing. You can use the left thumb stick to move (normal/modern) or use the D pad for tank controls (my preference). Whilst i have had to (annoyingly) replay an hour of gameplay again due to dying, this really adds to the tension as you need to make the decision whether to save, or try to go a bit deeper in before saving. The tapes are in short supply though so you have to be mindful of when you save. Similar to the ink ribbon/type writer system on Res Evil. The voice acting is a little cheesy but again, i think that's a nod back to Res Evil 1. It uses the same camera as RE: Code Veronica in that it's a mixture between fixed point camera angles and a moving/panning camera to match your movement.
